Church News:
(1) This January and February Glen Arbor will be starting a teaching series on Family.We are going to spend two months examining God’s plan for the family. We will discuss things that work; Glen Arbor is part of an association of churches that believes in God’s design for the family. In our association, we see less than 5% divorce rate as compared to around 50% in the general culture. In all of this we rely on a relationship with God, who instructs, empowers and blesses us in our families. We are going to look at what the author of marriage has to say! This would be a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to come and hear about something that directly pertains to their life.
(2) This years, Glen Arbor is sending 46 people to the Faithwalkers West conference in Missouri. Almost 2100 people are signed up to attend so far, which is by far the most ever. Please keep the conference in your prayers, and ask the Lord to catch hold of the hearts of those who are going.
(3) There will be no Awana on Wed. Dec 31. You can come to the church if you really want, but we won't be here!
(4) Brochures and registration information for the Regional Marriage Conference are now available on the book table. Guest speakers Pat and Cindy Sokoll will be sharing on Intimacy: God's Character, God's Plan, God's Gift. The conference is being held Feb. 20-21 at the Grand Harbor Resort in Dubuque, Iowa. Total conference cost of $35.00 includes registration and Saturday meals. Each attendee must find their own accomodations. The resort is offering a special rate of $119 a night to those attending the conference, though many other housing options are available nearby.
(5) Don't forget to grab your West Chicago Park District Catalog to see how you can get involved in West Chicago's community. You can pick one up from the book table in the overflow room.
